Recovery College captures community spirit

St Mungo's Recovery CollegeSt Mungo's Recovery College is back by popular demand and will re-open to the community this June. Recovery College - which has been running for three years - offers a myriad of free workshops for the mind, body and soul. You can develop your communication skills, tantalise your taste buds by learning how to cook a Sunday roast, spice up your life in the curry club, or steer towards a more relaxed and creative lifestyle with tai chi and photography, as well as trying a variety of other courses.

Workshops are available to everyone in the community, particularly people in recovery, staff from support or partner agencies and family or friends supporting a loved one. People can be in recovery from homelessness, mental ill health, chaotic lifestyles, substance misuse, or just experiencing difficult times in their lives.

Recovery College is open five days a week during term time, from  Monday 13  June until Friday 5  August,  at St Mungo's New Street Centre,  1 New St, St Judes, Bristol, BS2 9DX.

Simon Dyer, Recovery College Manager said: "We focus on helping people with their recovery by giving people opportunities to learn new skills and make new friendships. We build confidence and inspire people to be a part of their community."

Enrolment sessions will be taking place at the New Street Centre 12pm-2pm on 6-9 June and 10am-12pm on 10 June. You can also enrol outside of these times but will need to ask for a member of the Recovery College team at reception. Enrolment beforehand is encouraged but the charity's ethos is open and inclusive; so you can enrol on the day at any session.
